Abstract in English:

ABSTRACT.- Costa L.A.O.P., Abidu-Figueiredo M., Machado-Santos C., Borelli V. & Pereira J.G.L. 2011. [Morphology of the spermatic cord in Brazilian Bhuj goats.] E-mail: marceloabidu@gmail.com Histological aspects of the spermatic cord were studied in 40 Brazilian Bhuj goats. It was seen that the spermatic cord is involved by a thin capsule of compact connective tissue recovered by mesothelium which forms an expansion, the mesodeferens. Under this capsule is a subcapsular layer of variable thickness, formed by loose elastic fiber connective tissue that mixes with deep layer of the mesodeferens and with the adventitia of ductus deferens. Between the testicular artery and testicular veins exists an intervascular compact elastic fiber connective tissue in continuity with the adventitia of spermatic cord vessels. In the abdeferential region of the spermatic cord exists a neurovascular contingent, the vessels of which generally have inferior calibers and similar constitution and arrangement as the testicular artery and veins; the described contingent is related to nutrition of the initial portion of ductus deferens and part of the epididymis head and body. The vascular arrangement shows that the segment of the testicular artery in the spermatic cord has a sinuous disposition and is totally involved by the venous plexus formed by testicular vein valves with irregular outlines, diverse calibers and large connections. The length of the intra spermatic cord segment of the testicular artery has a medium and standard deviation of 134.6±38.1cm on the right and 137±33.9cm on the left. There were no statistical differences between the right and left medium ranges.

RESUMO.- Costa L.A.O.P., Abidu-Figueiredo M., Machado-Santos C., Borelli V. & Pereira J.G.L. 2011. [Morphology of the spermatic cord in Brazilian Bhuj goats.]

Abstract in English:

ABSTRACT.- Queiroz P.V.S. Moura C.E.B., Lucena J.A., Oliveira, M.F. & Albuquerque J.F.G. 2011. [Cranial and caudal mesenteric arteries in rock cavy Kerodon rupestris (Wied, 1820).] Artérias mesentéricas cranial e caudal em mocós Kerodon rupestris (Wied, 1820). Pesquisa Veterinária Brasileira 31(7):623-626. Departamento Ciência Animal, Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido, Bairro Presidente Costa e Silva, Mossoró, RN 59625-900, Brazil. E-mail: moacir@ufersa.edu.br In this study about the origin and ramification of the cranial (CrMA) and caudal (CaMA) mesenteric collateral arteries of the rock cavy, 20 animals (18 males and 2 females) of different ages, originated from the Wild Animals Multiplication Center of the Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (Cemas/Ufersa), were used. After the natural death, the walls of the abdominal cavity of the animals, in the left antimere, were dissected to cannulate to the aorta in pre-diaphragmatic path. Then they were fixed in 10% formaline and conditioned in order to study their anatomy. The results showed that in 18 animals (90%) the CrMA arose, separately, of the abdominal aorta, soon after the celiac artery (CA), originating, by this time, the middle colic (MCo), caudal pancreaticduodenal (CPD), duodenojejune (DJ), jejune (J) and ileocecocolic (ICeCo) trunk from which derives the ileocecal (ICe) and the right colic (RCo) arteries. In one rock cavy (5%), the CrMA and CA originate from abdominal aorta in a common trunk. In this case the CrMA originated the CPD, MCo, ICeCo, and J. In one observation (5%) CrMA and CaMA appear in common trunk. In this animal, CPD, DJ, ICeCo, MCo and J arteries were originated of the CrMA, while the left colic (LCo) and rectal cranial (RCr) arteries were originated of the CaMA. Regarding the CaMA, in 20 cases (100,00%) it originates the LCo and the rectal cranial arteries.

Abstract in English:

ABSTRACT.- Carvalho M.A.M., Azevedo L.M., Menezes D.J.A., Oliveira M.F., Assis Neto A.C., Cardoso F.T.S. & Teixeira M.C.O. 2008. [Anatomical-surgical arterial segments of the kidney in agouti (Dasyprocta prymnolopha).] Segmentos anátomo-cirúrgicos arteriais do rim de cutia (Dasyprocta prymnolopha). Pesquisa Veterinária Brasileira 28(5):249-252. Departamento de Morfofisiologia Veterinária, Centro de Ciências Agrárias, Universidade Federal do Piauí, Teresina, PI 64049-550, Brazil. E-mail: carvalhomam@uol.com.br Twenty pairs of agouti (Dasyprocta prymnolopha Wagler, 1831) kidneys were studied to describe the arterial anatomical-surgical segments. The renal arteries were injected with stained acetate vinyl, followed by procedures of acid corrosion in order to obtain vascular casts. It was found that the renal artery is always single and bifurcated into ventral and dorsal sectorial arteries. The sectorial arteries reached the kidneys (100% of the cases) through the hilus. These vessels gave origin to segmental branches responsible for kidney irrigation. At the right kidney, the ventral sectorial arteries gave origin to 3 (60% of the cases), 4 (35%) and 5 (5%) segmental branches; the dorsal sectorial arteries gave origin to 3 (30%), 4 (45%), 5 (20%) and 6 (5%) segmental arteries separated by a vascular sector. At the left kidney, the ventral sectorial arteries originated 2 (10%), 3 (55%) or 4 (35%) segmental branches; the dorsal sectorial arteries gave origin to 3 (25%), 4 (50%) and 5 (25%) segmental branches. Based on the arterial distribution of agouti kidneys, independent sections and arterial segments were found, so that it is possible to accomplish partial kidney resection surgery.

Abstract in English:

ABSTRACT.- Silva F.O.C., Rafael E.L.S., Severino R.S., Drummond S.S. & Bombonato P.P. 2007. [Arteries of the cervical wolves of the thymus in stillborns hogs of the lineage C40.] E-mail: eltonvete@yahoo.com.br The thymus is a lymphoid structure of great importance for young animals, excellently acting on the after-birth development and maintenance of their immunologic ability. It has been shown well-developed from the final phase of the prenatal period through the beginning of puberty, and is the largest lymphoid structure with high lymphopoietic function during that period. The objective was to study the arterial vascularization of the cervical part of the thymus of C40 pigs, to supply morphologic information for this structure in animals that are of economical importance in Brazil, and to furnish subsidies for comparative anatomy. Thirty pig embryos, males and females, were used originating from cases of abortion and natural death. Both sides of the cervical lobes of the thymus were found divided during the fetal phase into cranial and caudal portions, joined by an isthmus and situated along the medial face of the mandibulary glands up to the cranial edge of the first pair of ribs. Characteristic for each side of the thymus vascularization is that the cervical lobes of the left side were found irrigated by Arteria subclavia, A. carotida communis, A. thyreoidea caudalis, A. thyreoidea cranialis, A. thyreoidea cervicalis superficialis, A. laryngea caudalis, and A. laryngea cranialis. The cervical thymus lobes of the right side were irrigated by A. carotida communis, A. thyreoidea caudalis, A. thyreoidea cranialis, A. thyreoidea cervicalis superficialis, A. laryngea caudalis, and A. laryngea cranialis.
